Relatório de 2007 sobre a Liberdade Económica no Mundo

Foi publicado agora com dados referentes a 2005. Portugal desce (ainda os custos do socialismo) de 19º para 38º lugar.

Ver aqui Economic Freedom of the World

Algumas conclusões nada surpreendentes:

1. Countries with more economic freedom have substantially higher per-capita incomes.
(8 vezes mais de facto)

2. Countries with more economic freedom have higher growth rates. (6 vezes mais).

3. Countries with more economic freedom attract more foreign investment. (4 vezes mais).

4. The share of income earned by the poorest 10% of the population is unrelated to the degree of economic freedom in a nation. (será que esta cala os atacantes da economia de mercado?).

5. The amount per capita, as opposed to the share, of income going to the poorest 10% of the population is much greater in nations with the most economic freedom than it is in those with the least.(esta é forte!).

6. Life expectancy is over 20 years longer in countries with the most economic freedom than it is in those with the least.

7. Infant mortality is much lower in countries with high levels of economic freedom. (será que estas coisas interessam a alguém?)

8. Tuberculosis is less prevalent in countries with high levels of economic freedom. (o que é que isso interessa?).

9. Political rights (e.g., free and fair elections) and civil liberties (e.g., freedom of speech) go hand in hand with economic freedom. (vamos esquecer isto: estas estatísticas só podem ter sido falsificadas, não é?)
